Kasbah Africa runs private half day cooking workshops specialising in tasty Berber cuisine. Cooking workshops are conducted outside in good weather, either under the shade of a willow tree, or in a bamboo-screened outdoor kitchen with wonderful views over the Azzaden River Valley and Takerkhort Nature Reserve. You will learn-to-cook a typical 3-course Moroccan meal with regional influence from the Atlas Mountains.
Choose to prepare either lunch or dinner. Guided by Kasbah Africa's experienced chef, who is assisted by a local translator and kitchen helper, you'll cook and eat your own meal and learn all about local food preparation, spices and cooking techniques. All classes are conducted in English or French language and include preparation of at least two mouth-watering Moroccan dishes such as briouat, pastilla or a spicy cooked salad plus a chicken or beef tagine.
Royal couscous is usually prepared on Fridays – the traditional day for eating couscous in Morocco. You will learn how to prepare couscous to perfection! Each workshop includes a visit to a local water mill and bakery where flour is ground using an ancient technique. Here guests can try their hand at making dough and baking tasty bread, Berber style, in a clay oven.
